In the wake of Superstorm Sandy, New Yorkers have become painfully aware of how climate change could effect our city and our lives. Australian-based intermedia artist, Suzon Fuks, has been exploring these topics for over a decade, and she will present a screening and workshop at Kinetic Cinema on November 14th in Williamsburg that offers ways to respond creatively to Hurricane Sandy.
In the evening she will show excerpts of films, videos and recordings that inspired her to create Waterwheel, a collaborative online venue around ideas of water. She will explain how her fascination with water came about and discuss how artists can use her online platform to collaborate and present work with an international community of artists, activists and scientists.
